Public Open Days

The wherry Albion - built in 1898 is an old black sailed trader and an icon of the Broads: She is open to the Public, FREE.  She is 60 foot long with a 50 foot mast and 1500 sq ft of sail. Come and discover how this historic, cargo-carrying, working craft was sailed on our narrow rivers by a man and a boy.  Find out what a quant is, why the 'ceiling' is on the floor, where a bonnet fits.  Meet her modern crew and find out how she has adapted to a new lease of life carrying charter parties instead of cargo.  Pubs and cafes available nearby. For more info please telephone 01508 470992
